Steps to Competing for Boxers 35 and Older

First-time boxers above age 35 all need to register with USA Boxing on the web, obtain necessary medical information and then reach out to the New Jersey Association of boxing to obtain your passbook. A passbook proves you have provided all the documentation to be ready to fight. The process is below, and it’s strongly recommended you register early — boxers have been disqualified from competition for waiting too late to obtain a passbook. Here’s how to be ready to enter the ring.

The process is different after your first registration. For information on renewing your existing membership, visit our Renewal Page.

  1. Register with the National USA Boxing Web site by visiting:

    https://www.teamusa.org/usa-boxing/membership/registration

  2. As you register with this site, be ready to pay a different entrance fee of $85. Be sure to print off your receipt and membership card, because you’ll need copies of them later.

  3. Obtain two passport-size photos, most commonly as pharmacies such as CVS, Walgreens or Duane Reade.

  4. Print the Master Boxer Medical Release by clicking the link and have your primary doctor fill out the form.

  5. Bring your receipt, signed medical waiver, membership card, passport photos and an official proof of birth date (a birth certificate, passport or driver’s license) to one of the two locations on the specified days and times:
